I am a Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick, which I joined in 2012.

My primary field is macroeconomics, with a concentration in macroeconomic theory, quantitative and applied macroeconomics, and international macroeconomics. More recently, my research has increasingly turned to spatial macroeconomics — how geography and location shape aggregate economic outcomes.

Before Warwick, I was an Assistant Professor (Junior Chair) at the Toulouse School of Economics from 2010 to 2012. I earned my PhD in Economics at the Department of Economics, Duke University, in 2010.

I am married to Marija Vukotic, also an economist at the University of Warwick, and we are the parents of Leonardo and Luka.

I grew up in Sansepolcro, a small Renaissance town on the upper Tiber in the Province of Arezzo, Tuscany — the birthplace of Piero della Francesca.
